THIRD SPACES

This project explores the observation of ‘in-between’ states within third spaces, inviting reflection on the everyday and how one’s level of engagement shapes both observation and perception.Throughout this project, I have photographed varying forms of engagement within my observations, ranging from fleeting moments to more intimate conversations. These differing levels of interaction shape my perspective, shifting according to the duration and depth of each encounter. By positioning myself between these extremes, I explore the spectrum of observation, inhabiting an ‘in-between’ space within these third places as both observer and participant.
