Pavan Dilhe is a Midlands based artist and is a painter specialising in oil and acrylic paint.
Their practice is based on communal public spaces. Dilhe visits these types of spaces to document their observations. Spaces in which people can visit for no fixed time, and acts as an in between space between work and home. Groups of people all having the same thoughts and actively deciding to go to a specific space to perform the same activity interests them. They are curious about the types of social interactions which take place, and human behaviour in these spaces.
Observation and perspective is very critical in Dilhe’s work, as it acts as a basic for every painting that is then created. Dilhe is interested in how the engagement in observation could change the whole perspective of the painting visually becoming either intimate or distant or somewhere in between. Through this, Dilhe aims to create work exploring multiple different perspectives through their engagement of observation.
